Hair: DIY hair mask!

Hello girls!
As you've noticed, last post was about beauty tips which means I am starting a new series of posts! But, as promised, I will do some hair product reviews (two shampoos).
So, in simple words, for a couple days I will share beauty tips with you guys but you will also read about hair stuff as well.
Anyhow, today will be about hair! (Yay!) DIY face and hair mask!

Summer has been a lot of fun, but now, as it's back to school and back to work, it's time to revive that skin of yours and make it look brightened, soothe and moisturize your skin! Didn't I say this was a hair mask?! You'll see...

Ingredients for this mask...

Now let's make this mask step by step!

Step 1:
Cut an avocado in half
Remove the seed
Scoop the inside of half of the avocado (you won't be needing the other half)

Step 2:
Peel the banana and dice it into small pieces

Step 3:
Mash the ingredients with a fork
or
Use a blender

Step 4:
Add two teaspoons of olive oil to make your mask more hydrating

Step 5:
Poor into a bowl

Now that you've made your mask here's how to use it!

Step 6:
Remember to pull your hair out of your face
Apply a generous layer of your mask on your face

Step 7:
Keep the mask on and relax for 20 minutes

Step 8:
Tip: For a gentle exfoliation, after the 20 minutes, gently massage your face
Rinse your face in warm water and pat 'till dry

Now is that time to use your mask as a hair mask because you probably have a lot of product left.

Apply product on your hair, concentrating on your ends because that's where it's the most dry.
Rinse off after 20 minutes!

Hope you liked this and definitely let me know below if you've tried this mask or any other mask!
See you next time!

Beauty tips: makeup!

Hello lovelies! Today I will be sharing with you some easy tips for when you are doing your makeup, how to balance out some shimmery eyeshadows, new makeup ideas, etc! Enjoy!

Add dimension to your face
by using a highlighter right above your cheekbone

Try: Benefit's High Beam
Smokey eyes taken up a notch
by choosing a color (let's say purple). Next, you are going to apply a light version of purple on the inner half of your eyelids, and a darker version on the outer half. To finish, blend them together. This looks good with copper, green, purple and blue. These eyeshadow duos by NYC (New York Color) are perfect!

Cream blushes can be used as... what?! As a lip color! It's not dangerous to multitask your makeup!
Try: Maybelline's dream bouncy blushes!

Apply your brush the right way by smiling reel big and apply your blush on the apples of your cheeks in circular motions, weither it's with your fingers or your brush

Peachy Keen
Try: ELF blush in Twinkle Pink

And while you're at it, contour your face Make a fish face by sucking your cheeks in (you know the drill) and apply your bronzer in the crease that has just been formed. Now that you know how to, you can apply your blush on the apples of your cheeks!

St. Lucia
Try: ELF contouring blush and bronzer in Antigua more colors available

When you're wearing a shimmery eyeshadow, balance it out with a matte blush and a matte lipstick.

How to mattify your lipstick? Blot the color with a tissue, than lightly dust a transluscent powder over your lips

Nina Ricci
Cute combo: doll lashes and a pinky pout
Ballet Slippers
Try: ELF glossy gloss in Pink Candy
Hypnôse Doll Lashes
Try: Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes mascara

Brighten your eyes by applying white eyeshadow to the corner of your eyes/or on your browbone/or a white liner on your waterline, like so:

Clean up the mess you make Ever messed up your liner? Dip a pointed Q-Tip into a bit of body lotion, and then: drag and wipe! Where did the mess go?

Hope you all enjoyed!
Bye guys!

Hair: products to repair your hair and/or make it stronger

Hey girls! Today I will be introducing you to some well-working products if you have damaged hair.

Maybe you already know this, but hairspray, bleach, and styling tools (that you need to heat) can damage you hair. If you've abused of these, the products below can help you.
But before diving in these products, here are my tips if you have damaged hair.
My best tip
This has nothing to do with damaged hair, but do not believe it if one day you read someone saying that the same shampoo can damage your hair. You can try out new things, it doesn't matter! Just make sure you don't switch it up too much. The whole point of this tip is that if you use the same shampoo all the time, and you never switch it up, if you end up washing it with a new one it could get bad because your hair isn't used to change.
Don't wash your hair every day
Never put too many chemicals in your hair; washing your hair everyday will do that. For that reason I'm very careful; I wash my hair every two days, and I don't curl, straighten, or use products like hairspray. But, it's not something to be paranoied about. That's just my daily wash, and I don't need to straighten, and curling lasts like 5 minutes on my type of hair! So just be careful with those things.
Get a slight cut
The ends of your hair tend to get dry and damaged; this happens to everyone. Try getting an inch or have an inch off. I do this every month to keep my hair healthy.
Remember HAIR (I found this on Yahoo and added my personal touch to the text)
H: healthy body, healthy hair. Eat foods that are rich in proteins like nuts, fruits and vegetables. Like I said, we don't want to make a drama out of this, so I suggest just eat these once in a while to keep your hair healthy.
A: Actions speak louder than words. Our scalp produces sebum. Combing will distribute this oil all over your hair making it shinier. This action also means massaging your scalp which means better blood flow that translates to stronger hair (which means you can try those massaging spiders) like this:
I: invigorate with conditioner. Shampoos are good at cleaning our hair. Unfortunately, it also strips our hair of essential oils, that's why it's imperative we follow it up with conditioners to return moisture to our hair. Also, shampoos with coconut are good for your hair because coconut contains rich oils our hair loves. Don't forget to use cold water to rinse to lock in that moisture.
R: Rest your weary hair. Perming, coloring, relaxing, rebonding, very frequent blow-drying and ironing all put a lot of stress on our hair. It may turn out great after our trip to the salon but eventually when new hair grows you'll see that it has lost its luster and hair has become brittle.
Dry natural
I always let my hair dry naturally because it'll cause less damage. Try tricks like twisty towels.

1: try Lush's Rehab

What Rehab is said to do: Rehab is about bringing your hair and scalp back to basics and repairing it with an array of nutritious ingredients. Enzymic papaya cleanses, while almond oil softens the follicles. It doesn't take long for this shampoo to restore your hair to youth and vitality. Once your hair has been put into Rehab, you'll never look back. (From the Lush website)
What customers think about Rehab: "I have long, wavy, baby fine hair that has seen it's fair share of damage over the years (primarily from repeated coloring). My utmost worry was that the rich, conditioning oils in Rehab might weigh my hair down, but my worries were completely unfounded! After my first shower with Rehab, my hair was left soft, supple, shiny, bouncy, and in better shape than I had seen it in years!
Rehab lathers well, producing handfuls of lush, moisture-rich bubbles. I could feel the enzyme-laden juices and protective oils melting into my hair, leaving it so smooth, I barely needed to use conditioner! While the scent of this shampoo is a minty herbal blend that may strike the user as vaguely medicinal, it's hardly obtrusive, and it doesn't linger in the hair once you've washed it out.
Overall, I adore Rehab! I'd recommend this product to anyone with tired, damaged hair in need of a little tender loving care. Don't be scared off by the price. A little dollop of this shampoo goes a long way, so a large bottle ought to last you quite a while, and the extra expense is worth it (I dare say, this may be one of the very best shampoos I've ever used)."

Rehab's featured ingredient: pineapple juice
What's my tip?: to try out Rehab, first buy the smaller bottle (try it out and for a better price than the 500 ml)

2: try Herbal Essences

This is a way more affordable option and a brand I totally trust! Herbal Essences Bye-Bye Breakage
I love Herbal Essences, all their shampoos smell so good and it's super fun to try out new ones!

What Bye-Bye Breakage is said to do: so you have been heartbroken over damaged hair. our shampoo and conditioner with a fusion of royal jasmine and sea silk will lend a hand. our rich formula will help your hair find strength against styling damage and lift your heart. if you are in a hurry to mend this broken heart, our 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner formula will take care of you.(taken from Herbal Essences site)
What customers think about Bye-Bye Breakage: rated 5 stars
Bye-Bye Brekage scent: jasmine flowers
their science: "we treat each strand with a potent potion for strength against styling damage that leads to less breakage so your hair can be strong."

Hair: what I use for my colored hair and color tips and tricks!

Hey girls! You probably didn't know that my hair is color-treated because I have blond streaks! Continuing in my hair series, I will be showing everything I use for my color-treated hair, products I use and love.

In case you're wondering, here are answers to often asked questions and  two tips if your hair is color-treated (these tips apply more if all your hair is colored, not just streaks)

What is a color care shampoo for?
A color care product will be softer, which is excellent if your hair is color-treated. Most of the time and it's most important aspect is that it will enhance your coloration. What's good about enhancing your color is that you won't have to go get your hair done again so often (if you have streaks).
How can I tell if my shampoo is working?
Well, as I mentioned, you will be able to tell if your hair color is brightened and enhanced.
What do I recommend?
As I always recommend, you should switch once in a while with another shampoo, and you'll see below that I switch with another color-care shampoo. If all your hair is colored, and you have more than just simple streaks, I recommend using a shampoo made entirely for the color you dyed your hair, cause that's just what I would do, but anything else works of course.
Tip 1
Protect your hair from the sun with a hat because UV rays can deplete color-treated hair of its brilliance.
Tip 2
Rinse your hair with fresh water after being in the pool (salt or chlorinated water)

So, when I first got my streaks last year, my hair stylist recommended the Sexy Hair products, which were available at the salon. My mom bought it for me, and it smelled super yummy, but as you're probably guessing, it's high end and so, a little expensive. What we bought was called the Healthy Sexy Hair Reinvent Color Care shampoo. I did really like that, but I love Herbal Essences shampoos, so I went towards them to see if they had a color care shampoo and they did!
But before I go on with Herbal Essences, I know that Bumble and Bumble have the Color Minded shampoo and conditioners for color-treated hair as well. That's actually a high end product as well (shampoo and conditioner together give you a total of almost 60$) but maybe if you're already using a Bb product and you've colored your hair you'd like to try it out.

Back to what I use for my hair,

As I was saying, I tried buying Herbal Essences. Can I just say, the smell of this shampoo (called Colour Me Happy) is super delicious! If it wasn't a shampoo, I'd eat it (most-likely drink it)! ;) So, I like this a lot and I  recommend this so much because it's inexpensive and it works (that's all you need, right?).

The shampoo I currently use

When I'll switch my shampoo, I'll use the l'Oréal Paris Color Care shampoo but I won't extend myself on the subject because I plan on making a review about that soon in my hair series.

Hair: Is your scalp itchy?

Hello girls! Today I will be talking about a subject that I think might be helpful for some of you now or in the future. It's actually something I have right now, and you might want to know how I deal with it: an itchy scalp.

Is it really what I'm talking about?

To be sure if it's actually the same thing, here's how you know:

  1. It will certainly be itchy more than once
  2. When you'll scratch, you'll have residues on your fingers
  3. It'll appear as some dandruff, but it's not that, and you'll visibly see that
How do I deal with it?

First, the most important thing is to make sure you wash your hair very well every time you will, to make sure all the residues that might be left will be gone and that will make your hair more clean.

Than you'll want to use an anti-dandruff shampoo, but make sure on the box that it will kill what causes it, because this is not just some regular dandruff. I use Nizoral, and it works really well. Tip: make sure you switch with your regular shampoo once in a while so your hair won't get used to one or another
To note: Nizoral does not smell bad

Bad hair day?

Here's a tip: when my hair will ever be itching me during the day, I'll make sure 1) I'll use Nizoral that night and 2) I'll tie my hair in a low bun

I hope this helped you all! Bye guys!
